There's propane leak in a CP Rail car. That rail car is in the CP Rail yard and crews are working on it right now.

Moose Jaw firefighters, police and City of Moose Jaw crews are on the scene and standing by and are prepared for the worst.

Corporal Blair Bucsis of the Moose Jaw Police Service filled us in.

"Yes, we've had a liquid propane car...leaking. We have an area between 2nd Avenue North East to 2nd Avenue North West, including Manitoba and River Streets evacuated," said Corporal Bucsis.

"The concern with this...the propane tank could catch fire and act like a torpedo so, they have emergency response teams on scene to assist and bleed it (the propane) off as soon as possible."

In the meantime, Corporal Bucsis is asking all local residents to avoid that area of downtown Moose Jaw.
