assigned by Canadian National Railway Company to their Northern Quebec
Territory (NQT) shortline railway operations.
This application was filed with the CIRB on April 29, 2008, the
representation vote ballot count was held on October 29, 2008, with the

Teamsters Canada Rail Conference President D. J. Shewchuk welcomes the
newest members into the TCRC and commented: “The results show absolutely
no indecision by the members at NQT. We welcome this latest addition to
our Union, and congratulate them as they can now be reunited with their
Sisters and Brothers at CN and within their General Committee of
Adjustment.”
TCRC General Chairman Daniel Joannette commented: “I am very happy that
we are all reunited within the TCRC with our Brothers and Sisters on the
Northern Quebec territory.”
The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference now represents the majority of
workers at Canadian National Railways. Recent Certification of over 3000
Conductors, Trainmen, Yardmen, and Yardmasters at CN has highlighted the
growing trend of railway employees, particularly those within the
running trades, of joining the TCRC. The TCRC has quickly become the
premier multi-craft railway Union within Canada, where the recognition
of craft autonomy protects the interests of all crafts.
